The Archive of the Styrian Center for Folk Music may sound like dust and yesteryear to some. But there is little left of the revered sleepy archive. Department of Handwritings Contains around 30 000 melodies and texts, as well as 8 000 Gstanzln (spontaneous, four-line rhyming poetry sung to different melodies) and handwritten material gathered during fieldwork of the past years. Library Currently holds 10 000 volumes and is being expanded and updated constantly through the purchase of new books and thanks to donations.
		Biography Collection Information about almost 200 Persons. Sound Archive Contains around 4500 sound recordings with around 30 000 titles (CD's , records, casettes, tapes, Schellacks, zylinders).
Photo Archive 15 000 photographic documents from fieldwork and events. Periodical Collection More than 40 periodicals concerning Folk music, folk song and tradition.
